- No part of the defenders body is to be in front of the referee.
- All defenders must make it back to the marked 10 metres. Defenders linking into the line when the line moves forward will be interpreted as a breach.
- The defensive line may move forward once the ball has cleared the ruck. Referees Vocab "Hold and Go".
- The 10 metres is marked as the line between the referee and the sideline official/s.
- When defending the goalline defender/s MUST have both feet ON or BEHIND the goalline.
